The short version: the only thing this site collects is what you type into the contact form, and it is used to write back to you.
What the form asks for
Your name and email address, which are required so there is a way to reply. A phone number and roughly where you are, both optional. A description of the piece and the story behind it. And up to five photographs, if you choose to send them.
The website also records the IP address the enquiry was sent from. That happens automatically and is used only to tell real enquiries from automated spam.
What happens to it
It is saved on this website and emailed to Dermot so that he can read it and answer you. Nothing is sold, rented, or used to advertise to you. There is no mailing list, and sending an enquiry does not sign you up to anything.
Two companies necessarily handle it along the way: the company that hosts this website stores it on their servers, and the email itself passes through their mail service and arrives in a Gmail account. They process it so the site can work, not for their own purposes.
How long it is kept
Enquiries are kept so that a piece of work can be looked back on later, which matters when the work is about someone’s family. They are not deleted on a fixed schedule. If you would rather yours was removed, ask and it will be.
Photographs
Photographs you send are used to understand what you have and what it might become. They are not published anywhere without asking you first. If a finished piece ends up on this website, that is a separate conversation and your answer can be no.
Cookies and measurement
Browsing this site sets no cookies at all. There are no advertising trackers and no profile is built about you. If simple visitor statistics are ever added, this page will be updated to say so, and they would count visits rather than identify anyone.
Children
This site is meant for adults commissioning work and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. If you believe a child has sent something through the form, say so and it will be deleted.
Asking about your information
You can ask what is held about you, ask for a copy of it, or ask for it to be deleted. Use the contact form and say so, and it will be dealt with.
Changes to this page
If how any of this works changes, this page gets updated and the date below changes with it. There is no version history to dig through; what is written here is what currently happens.
Last updated 31 August 2026. This page describes what actually happens to what you send. If anything here is unclear, ask.
